This is a “White Paper” report on mentally ill, or simply unarmed victims who were killed by police or deputies.
Two former Fullerton, Ca. Police Officers go on trial today (11-18-13) for the alleged beating death of a homeless mentally ill man named Kelly Thomas, who’s death in part of this report. Judd McIlvain has been TV Journalism as a reporter for 50 years, and worked for UPI in Latin America, Fox and CBS TV in LA and on the national CBS TV news magazine “48-Hours.”
In the US Army Judd McIlvain was in the Military Police and has done police patrolling in civilian areas. Judd said someone needed to look at the facts that the news media has uncovered in these law enforcement killings. Police shooting of another mentally ill woman happened in Long Beach, Ca. just this past few days.
